My junior year, Fall 2007 semester, I took a Health Communication Campaigns course where I co-wrote a research paper and developed a campaign promoting the practice of breast self-examinations. In doing so I took part in evaluating survey results to learn audience behaviors and perceptions, created mock-up fliers, brochures, scripts for a PSA, and a e-mail newsletter. Completing this project helped in conveying how to target audiences and develop an effective campaign.
The paper was presented during the first Health Communications Panel at the NJ Communication Association Conference in March 2008.
